Cocktails, The Ivy, Winchester

Having lived in Bristol, I was very excited to see that The Ivy was coming to Winchester. The Ivy in Clifton Village, Bristol, is situated in an old bank, so I really interested to see what they were going to to with the decor in Winchester given it used to be an L.K.Bennett store.

The building can seat around 150 guests and offers a range of seating in the style of booths and tables. I was rally impressed to see the new refurb had been done to the same beautiful standard I had seen in Bristol but with a few added improvements. Bold colours contrast the marble floors giving the restaurant a classic but fun vibe.

My favourite feature was definitely the large windows that open up allowing you to enjoy the sunmer sun while sitting in the shade. Luckily for us, we had picked a glorriously hot day to visit so were able to enjoy a few cocktails in the sun.

The bar area itself is also a thing of beauty. I would say overall that I agree with The Ivy when they say the space is sophisticated yet relaxed.

We settled on two cocktails to try for the afternoon, the Salted Caramal Espresso Martini and The Ivy Royale.

The cocktails are beautiful and to be honest, I could have quite happily spent a whole day sipping on the Salted Caramel Espresso Martini. It was perfectly balance, not too sweet, but just sweet enough to ensure you could enjoy far more than one ;)

Cheers to that!
