The Iron Fairies, Hong Kong

Have you ever wondered what it's like to drink cocktails in a private cast room with 10,000 butteries above you and magic fairy dust at your fingertips? Well, look no further than The Iron Fairies in Central, Hong Kong.

We decided to opt for one of the private casting room's which are located around the edge of the room and offer private seating, table service and a great view over the rest of the venue. The night we went to the Iron Fairies, there was also a live act performing. The atmosphere was out of this world.

Speaking of our of this world, the cocktails!! Not only are they beautiful, they taste delicious A handful of the cocktails are designed by world travelling mixologist, Joseph Boroski or 'Mixsultant' as he likes to call himself. Interestingly, he has his own bar next door, but that's a whole different blog in itself!

After working our way through the signature cocktails, my personal favourite from the menu is 'Smoke in a Bottle' which is a vodka based cocktail with added smoke! It has a floral flavour due to the blueberry and elderflower with an added smokey twist. The only down side to this drink if you are a none smoker, is that next morning you do feel like you have been smoking. But otherwise, a delight to drink and magical in appearance.

Another perk of the Iron Fairies is that they also do snacks to accompany your cocktails...and who doesn't love a snack when drinking? Their 'conversational' menu has some superb nibbles including their deep dried popcorn chicken (which is to die for) and fries with truffle. I'm actually salivating things about them right now!

I don't think you can really grasp how amazing this place is until you go there. The décor is so over the top, but it works. The drinks are over the top, but they work! It's a place of magic and intrigue and I love that. So if you need me...come find me in the Iron Fairies!!
