Afternoon tea & Spa, Christchurch Harbour Hotel

Back in October we had a wonderful spa session followed by Afternoon Tea at the Christchurch Harbour Hotel and Spa, known as HarSPA. Located on the Dorset coastline, the hotel overlooks the harbour and is the perfect spot to relax and absorb the magnificent sea views.
As with all Harbour Hotels in the chain, there is also the option to dine at The Jetty restaurant. The Jetty at Christchurch is award winning and is situated on the waters edge (you can just see it poking out of the left hand side of the picture below). The Jetty is defiantly on our hit list of places to dine in the future.
On arrival you are given complimentary slippers, a robe and towels so that you can feel all snuggly once you are in the HarSPA. The spa has 5 treatments rooms, an indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna, salt grotto and a steam room on offer and is illuminated with calming lights.
There is also the ‘Hide Away’ for over 16’s only which is a quiet area where you can read magazines, drink fruit infused water and look out over the idyllic harbour. Personally, this was one of my favourite areas and was perfect for a little snooze after a treatment. The spa area itself isn't huge, which I liked as it means that they don’t have too many people in the spa at any one time. This allows you to really relax and leave the outside world far behind.

After an incredible full body massage and a nap in the Hide Away, we headed to the Upper Deck Bar & Restaurant for our afternoon tea. As you'd expect, this includes the standard pot of tea or a coffee, scones and a selection of sandwiches and cakes. The Harbour Hotel also offers a champagne afternoon tea and a Rose afternoon tea which includes a glass of Lombart Brut Rose.

As our visit was to celebrate of birthday, we were given a little treat after our afternoon tea. Fudge, truffles and homemade Turkish delight! A lovely way to end a fabulous day.

If you are looking for a relaxing way to spend a day, I would say that the HarSPA is just what you need. For me, being by the sea is always a relaxing experience, so having a spa treatment on top of sea views is an added bonus. Cheers to that!
