Coffee, cupcakes and pumpkins, Peggy Porschen Cakes London

One of the best things about being an adult is being able to eat whatever you like for breakfast, including cake. This year we headed to London to celebrate my birthday and the first stop for my birthday was of course, Peggy Porschen's. Emma and I first visited Peggy's back in November last year when we were having a sisters weekend in London and I instantly feel in love. The décor is everything and not only does everything look beautiful, but the cakes are out of this world.

I love that Peggy's makes the effort to update their décor based on the season and this time of year, it's all about Halloween. Pretty pink pumpkins, floral skulls and hints of sparkle make their display the most beautiful Halloween set up I think I have ever seen.

On this occasion, as it was unseasonably warm for October, we decided to take advantage of the weather and sit outside. As the shop itself is quite small, I love that the decoration is continued from inside the store to outside of the building so that you can enjoy its beauty regardless of where you sit.

As well as making sure the shop looked perfect for the time of the year, Peggy's also have some festive cupcakes and cute stencils to get you in the Halloween spirit.

I opted for their Skulls and Pearls cupcake which is based on their bestselling Chocolate Heaven Cupcake. Styled with their pink and purple sugar skulls with pretty little flowers and metallic sugar pearls. it has a deliciously silky frosting, with a soft and chocolatey cupcake. The perfect Halloween treat.

Because as if chocolate cupcakes aren’t enough, why not add a hot chocolate and a slice of Dark Chocolate Truffle Layer Cake!? Makes perfect sense to any self respecting adult right? The truffle cake consists of three rich, moist chocolate sponge layers, separated by a velvety smooth dark chocolate ganache and finished with a beautiful truffle. I am actually salivating just thinking about it.

Given how popular Peggy's is, the staff do a great job at delivering a quick service and turning the tables around while still letting customers enjoy the incredible surroundings and taking a million and one photos of the cakes and the decorations. I think it must take a lot of patience to work at Peggy Porschen's given the amount of people that come and go in a day and given the fact that they have to deliver good service while jumping out of the way of the perfect 'insta shot'. I take my hat off to you waitresses and waiters of Peggy's!

If you are in London, I really would suggest dropping in and trying one of these beautiful cupcakes or a slab of layer cake. Or if you prefer to avoid heading down to the café, why don't you order some of their tasty cakes online to enjoy all the delights of Peggy's without the people!
