Black Tap Craft Burgers, Dubai

Dubai is a place where you can pretty much get any food you want, any time. Having been to the Black Tap in New York, I was intrigued to see how Black Tap Dubai would square up.

If you haven't seen any of the social media from Black Tap,  where have you been hiding? Their milkshakes, or as they call them 'crazy shakes' took Instagram by storm due to their over the top and glutenous design. Oreo's, candyfloss, cream, sweeties, lollipops...you name it, they have a shake that has that topping.

The Black Tap in Dubai is located at Waterfront Level, Intercontinental, Dubai Festival City. To access it, we entered through the Intercontinental hotel however, I think you may also be able to access if from Dubai Festival City shopping complex. You may think that the Intercontinental and the Black Tap are worlds apart in terms of their atheistic, which is true, however when you head down to the restaurant, you will be greeted by the graffiti design you would expect in their locations. In fact, graffiti artist Fumero created a signature wall mural for the Festival City venue.

As you may be able to tell from the street name, the restaurant is located on the waterfront, which is great as you can see the Dubai Festival City light show from your table. This is ideal if you have a kids and provides perfect entertainment. You are also treated to fantastic views across the city and at night, the Burj Khalifa is perfectly in sight.

Enough about the venue...lets move on to the reason you are reading the blog, the food! Let's face it, it would be a crime to visit Black Tap without ordering one of their OTT shakes. Being an Oreo lover, I opted for the Cookie and Cream Supreme while my fellow foodie went for the Cotton Candy milkshake.

Cookie and Cream Supreme (right)
Oreo shake,  vanilla frosted rim with crushed Oreo's topped with a 'cookies n cream' sandwich, crumbled Oreo, whipped cream and chocolate drizzle
Cotton Candy (left)
Strawberry shake, vanilla frosted rim with blue, pink and pearl chocolates topped with a pink lollipop, rock candy, whipped cream and cotton candy

And if a shake on it's own wasn't quite enough, I also selected the pizza burger. Yep, that's right, a pizza burger. All the best bits of both,  rolled into one beautiful burger. Zesty tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella and shaved Parmigiana Reggiano with a side of sweet potato chips. Pure heaven!!

Everything was a delight to eat although, this place is not for the faint hearted. Afterwards I did have to remain seated for a rather long period of time due to being so unbelievably full and feeling like I had a stomach of lead. But I mean, what can you expect after drinking a milkshake full of sugary treats, topped of with meat and carbs?

Until we meet again Black Tap...
