Dinner, The Waterfront, Gibraltar

If you read my most recent blog on lunch at Zizzi's in Port Solent, you will know that I love eating outside and near the water (click here if you want a quick link to that post).

After heading up the Gibraltar Rock to see the famous monkeys, I took a short walk down to Queensway Quay to enjoy dinner in the warm evening sun. The Waterfront restaurant and bar looks out over the marina and is the perfect spot to enjoy a relaxed dinner.

The menu has a great range of dishes so should suit most palettes. For my main, I decided to have the King Prawn Linguine with a garlic cream sauce. When I think about this dish, I struggle to decide where to start as there were so many things to comment on. I will start with the prawns, huge, tasty and not in short supply. The pasta was beautifully cooked and tasty and the sauce, oh my the sauce. Perfection. Not too garlicy, not to creamy, just right. My mouth is salivating just thinking about this dish.

Even though I was rather full from my pasta main, I decided to have a little something sweet to round off the meal. The cheesecake of the day was a Summer Berry cheesecake and sounded like the perfect way to round off my meal.

When my cheesecake arrived I was shocked by it's size. Now I have a big appetite and I love my food, but I only managed around half and just couldn't squeeze in another mouthful. It was so delicious, but really could have been half the size. It would have been perfect for a couple or friends to share.

I really could not fault anything about my experience at The Waterfront. The food was divine and the portions were large and full of flavour. I most definitely will be returning on my next trip to Gibraltar.
