Sibling Gin Tour, Cheltenham

Last weekend we celebrated my birthday a little early and headed  to Cheltenham for the weekend. As part of my birthday weekend, we visited the Sibling Gin Distillery based just outside the centre of Cheltenham.

I was so excited to be going to this gin tour as I love Sibling Gin. I first remember trying their gin around 4.5 years ago when they were at the Cheltenham Food Festival. As I discovered while on the tour, this was when the company was still very much in its prime. Since then, they have moved locations twice (all within the area) and are now settled in their newest location, which is where we attended the tour.

When we first arrived, we were greeted with a G&T and given the brief overview of their story. As their parents are brewers (they brew beer) it made sense to the siblings (all 4 of them) to go into business together, which given how young  they all were, is very brave.

One thing that really stood out to me was the respect they have for each other. The Sibling Gin Bottle has 4 equal sides, to show they are all equal and each of them heads up their own area of the business. They are clearly vary hard workers and extremely mature for their age.

Something else that was also very impressive is their business acumen. Unlike a number of other gin companies, Sibling Gin make their own base product. They don't buy the 'neutral spirit' (which would make the process much quicker and cheaper), they make every element themselves because it makes a smoother, tastier gin. They also source all of their products from high quality growers to ensure the highest of quality gin is delivered to their customers.

All extremely impressive for a group of siblings right? But what about the gin I hear you say! I am first of all going to apologise for not using many of my own photos. To be completely honest, I was having such a good time, I totally forgot to take my phone out! Most of the photos are from the Sibling Gin website, links are below the photos.

Sibling Original Gin

The gin that started it all, the original triple distilled gin is a delight to drink. Smooth and silky, the original gin is a little bit too easy to drink if I'm completely honest. Because the building blocks of the gin are made by the family, they are able to give you the best of the best when it comes to quality. As I mentioned above, they add the highest quality ingredients to give the best taste. Vanilla from Madagascar, a hint of cubeb berries and splash of orange and blueberry, along other ingredients, make for the perfect gin, for any occasion. at £40 for 70cl, you may think it's quite expensive vs some of the other gins on the market, but trust me when I say your money will be well spent. First of all, you will be supporting a British business (yey) and second of all, you will be receiving a gin that has been made with love and soul that tastes incredible.

Negroni Gin

Taking inspiration from the classic aperitif, the Negroni Gin has a a noticeable citrus flavour is beautifully fresh. I think this one may appear on my Christmas list this year! The perfect gin to welcome your guests.

Winter Edition

We also had a little taste of the Winter Edition Gin. This gin encompasses winter in a bottle, it's warming and homely and can be drunk on its own or with tonic. The perfect drink to enjoy after a wonderful winter walk or when you are snuggled up on the sofa watching Christmas movies.

Part of the tour also involved a gin related quiz, which was great fun and a really interesting way to learn more about gin!

The gin tours take place around once per month and are £25 per head. You get a HUGE amount of gin while you are on the tour and discount in the on site shop. Bargain I say!
