MooFish, Discovery Bay, Hong Kong

Whilst on holiday, we popped for a family lunch at MooFish in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong. Discovery Bay is a short ferry ride from Central Hong Kong and has two plazas with a range of restaurants, shops and bars. As we were staying at the Auberge Hotel, we thought MooFish would be a great place to meet as it is literally a stones throw from the entrance of the hotel.

However, if you are staying in central, there are number of other MooFish locations. A full list can be found here.

As there were 8 of us eating, it was a great way to see a whole range of meals in one sitting.

Left : Bloody Berry Gin & Tonic - muddled mint & black berries, shaken over ice with Four Pillars bloody shiraz gin and topped with tonic water
Right : Ginger Spice - smashed jalapenos and fresh ginger root mixed with gin, lemon juice and soda water

Mains

Kung Po Chicken
Spicy stir fried chicken with peanuts, fresh coriander, vegetables and steamed rice

Caesar Salad
Cos lettuce in a classic Caesar dressing with croutons, anchovies, crispy param ham and Parmesan cheese

Grilled salmon steak
Crispy skin salmon steak with a lemon caper sauce served on a bed of double cream mashed potatoes and grilled vegetables

The Works Steak Sandwich
Tender fillet of beef char grilled with caramelised onions, melted cheese, tomato, bacon and lettuce

Pulled Port & Red wine lasagne
A twist on a classic dish, pulled port infused with red wine and a rich tomato sauce

Bangers and Mash
Grilled English Cumberland sausages with double cream mashed potatoes, green peas and topped with our home made red wine gravy

MooFish Grilled Chicken Breast Fajitas

As you can see from the photos, the portion sizes were really generous. The service was very quick and everyone enjoyed their meals. For us, the location was perfect as we had elderly family members with us and it was a short walk from the hotel.

With a number of locations, I would highly recommend MooFish, especially if you have people with you who want to enjoy 'English food' when you are half way around the world, like our elderly relatives did.
