Overnight stay, The Grosvenor, Stockbridge

Last weekend we had the most amazing night away at The Grosvenor Hotel in Stockbridge, Hampshire. For the sake of transparency, I won the night away through a competition. The views in this blog are my own and have not been affected or influenced by the hotel staff.

The Grosvenor Hotel is prominently situated in the centre of the Stockbridge high street and has the most beautiful entrance, which can be seen below. At the moment, they have playfully placed two deck chairs and sand just outside the front door.

The room we stayed in was 'The Cannon', named after Tom Cannon, a local horse jockey turned trainer who also lived at the Grosvenor until he died in 1917.

The room is decorated in a relaxing pale pink with pops of colour here and there. I can honestly say that the photos do not do this room justice. I feel like it looks really girly in the photos, but it didn't feel that girly in person.

Opposite the bed, a TV hides behind a mirror/frame. I thought this was a really nice touch given the room is quite traditional. It was nice to have a TV in the room but it didn't take away from the style of the accomodation.

In the wardrobe, there was also a kettle and Nespresso coffee machine. The hotel also provides a hairdryer (as you'd expect) and a pair of straighteners for guests.

My husband was also very pleased with the selection of books on offer.

The real show stopper of  'The Cannon' is the bathroom. The rolltop bath takes centre stage and was heavenly. I have to admit, I would have happily spent the whole evening sitting in it. There is also a large shower and his and hers sinks, all decorated in the same pink theme as the bedroom.

You can tell whoever designed this room spared no expense with fixtures and fittings. Everything had been finished to such a high standard and feels so luxurious.

We had a fabulous stay at The Grosvenor and came away feeling so relaxed. I would happily recommend the hotel to anyone who is looking for a night or two away. We also ate dinner in the restaurant at the hotel - we will write this up in a separate blog as this was paid for by us.
