The Iron Fairies, Hong Kong

Image
Have you ever wondered what it's like to drink cocktails in a private cast room with 10,000 butteries above you and magic fairy dust at your fingertips? Well, look no further than The Iron Fairies in Central, Hong Kong.   We decided to opt for one of the private casting room's which are located around the edge of the room and offer private seating, table service and a great view over the rest of the venue. The night we went to the Iron Fairies, there was also a live act performing. The atmosphere was out of this world.   Casting room for private dining situated around the edge of the venue   Live performance at the Iron Fairies Speaking of our of this world, the cocktails!! Not only are they beautiful, they taste delicious A handful of the cocktails are designed by world travelling mixologist, Joseph Boroski or 'Mixsultant' as he likes to call himself. Interestingly, he has his own bar next door, but that's a whole different blog in itself!

Hutong, Hong Kong

Image
Hutong HK and Hutong at the Shard both pride themselves on serving Northern Chinese cuisine ‘against a backdrop of stunning views’. Hong Kong skyline is maybe my favourite skyline in the world because not only does it has some beautiful skyscrapers which make it interesting and unique, from the right place, you also have the backdrop of the mountains which for me, makes it unlike anywhere else I have been before. So good food with stunning views is already a win for me. The Hutong in Hong Kong is based is TST and is right on the waterfront a short walk from the historic Star Ferry. If you are visiting Hong Kong for the first time, I would really recommend travelling to TST in this manner as it is an experience in itself. The ferry has a history which dates back to around 1880 when it was first used as a commuter system and it doesn’t appear much has changed since then. It is also a really cost-effective way to travel and sightsee at the same time. Once you have made your

Tale As Old As Time Afternoon Tea, The Kensington Hotel, London

Image
I'm pretty sure anyone who has a Facebook account would have seen the adverts for the Beauty and The Beast themed afternoon tea at The Kensington Hotel last year. The afternoon tea was originally due to be a limited time event, but due to the incredible response of people who wanted to experience this interesting twist on the traditional afternoon tea, it has at present, been extended.  In November 2017, we finally managed to get a reservation for the Tale As Old As Time Afternoon Tea, so we headed down to London with our other little sister to see what all the fuss was about.  Based in South Kensington, The Kensington Hotel itself is a beautiful building and the interior design is stunning. The Town House is a newly restaurant that plays host to the Afternoon Tea and can be accessed by its own entrance on Manson Place.  The Tale As Old As Time afternoon tea is currently priced at £42 per person or £54.50 with an added class of Champagne. (however, when we went in

Piecaramba! My happy place

Image
You may remember me confession my love of pie a few blogs back when we were up in Edinburgh, well now I share with you pure  #pieporn I have lost track of the amount of times I have darkened Piecaramba's door and I could honestly just post pictures of their beautiful pie's all day long, but lets get down to the nitty gritty! First things first, Piecaramba is, hands down, the coolest place on earth. They have top trumps, they have super heroes and they have a hand dryer that is Darth Vader's head in their toilet...I mean come on, it's bloody amazing. Let your inner geek out and feed them pie at the same time!! Oh and did I also mention that they have the most hilarious Instagram account where they photoshop pie's into great movie scenes and meme's?! I know you want to head down there even though you haven't even seen the pie's yet, don't you? (Source : Instagram PiecarambaUK) Alas, let the  #pieporn commence!  at Pie

2 in 1 blog : The Paddle for brunch

Image
There is nothing I love more than enjoying food in the great outdoors. The weather in the UK this summer has been incredible (let's hope I don't jinx it now) and so on Sunday we decided to head over to The Paddle in Highcliffe before a heading for our own paddle in the sea. Also, it is defiantly worth noting that The Paddle is doggy friendly!! Woohoo or should I say woof woof! SistersDineOut first experienced brunch at The Paddle back in October 2017, which as you know was a little while before we started blogging, so we have decided to do a double review in one...because, well, why not? On our first adventure, we opted for 'Harrys' One Pan Breakfast, American Style Pancakes and one of their oaty smoothies with a nice pot of tea. The pancakes were super fluffy and tasty while the one pan breakfast couldn't be faulted. It's great to see that The Paddle are supporting local produce and using sausages from Chris Watson, which is a family butchers based in

The Jolly Botanist, Edinburgh

Image
Over May bank holiday we packed up and popped to Edinburgh for a hen party. The hen herself was a huge gin fan, so we were keen to try out some beautiful spots to help her test out some new gins. Aren't we such nice friends? One of the places we decided to try was called The Jolly Botanist. Based on the other side of town from where our apartment was, the walk enabled us to see some of the sights of Edinburgh (although slightly foggy sites! But hey ho!) Being the sensible friends that we are (and the fact it was still really rather early in the day) we decided it would be a good idea to get some food in our bellies to accompany the alcohol. One thing you should know about me, is that I am a real pie lover. So when the opportunity arrises, I feel it is my duty to all pie lovers across the nation to test pie's wherever possible. The photos of the meals below really do not highlight quite how huge these portion sizes are. I really would say make sure you don't even

Cocktails, The Ivy, Winchester

Image
Having lived in Bristol, I was very excited to see that The Ivy was coming to Winchester. The Ivy in Clifton Village, Bristol, is situated in an old bank, so I really interested to see what they were going to to with the decor in Winchester given it used to be an L.K.Bennett store. The building can seat around 150 guests and offers a range of seating in the style of booths and tables. I was rally impressed to see the new refurb had been done to the same beautiful standard I had seen in Bristol but with a few added improvements. Bold colours contrast the marble floors giving the restaurant a classic but fun vibe. My favourite feature was definitely the large windows that open up allowing you to enjoy the sunmer sun while sitting in the shade. Luckily for us, we had picked a glorriously hot day to visit so were able to enjoy a few cocktails in the sun. The bar area itself is also a thing of beauty. I would say overall that I agree with The Ivy when they say the space is so

Bottomless Brunch - Incognito Winchester

Image
I am a big fan of a bottomless brunch so this weekend Sisters Dine Out decided to see that Winchester has to offer! The venue itself is actually really nice and has been decorated to have a 'Victorian' feel. I have to admit, I really like the way it has been transformed. Apparently it used to be a YMCA cafĂ© (according to our lovely waitress!) The brunch itself costs £29.99 per person and is served between 12 & 4pm every Saturday and Sunday. For this £29.99 you have 1.5 hours of bottomless prosecco, wine or beer and then two courses off their menu. We of course opted for prosecco ;) After all that booze and two mains, you could also help yourself to unlimited (yes, thats right...UNLIMITED!!) cake! We settled on a mixture of baked camembert and a selection of cold meats with breads and mozzarella, followed by some really rather tasty carrot cake and coffee & walnut cake. Yum! The cold meat selection was brought out first and I really enjoyed this platter
