No 5 Bell Street, Romsey

Image
Every now and then I like to treat myself and take myself for lunch mid week. It may sound odd, but I like to indulge in a little 'me time'. Sometimes I take myself shopping other times I take myself for lunch and enjoy doing something on my own, for me. Being office based, I can't take myself too far for lunch, but since I started working in Romsey I have enjoyed popping into our beautiful town. Over the past few months, it seems like there have been a lot of changes on Bell Street. This includes new clothes shops, shoe shops and the opening of No 5.     The café itself is very quaint and is even dog friendly! As well as serving incredible coffee, the café offers Jude's ice cream, a range of homemade tasty cakes and sandwiches. During the working work, No 5 is the perfect spot to sit and people watch with a coffee and a baguette.     They also do a loyalty scheme for their coffees which is great and more than anything, a great excuse to make sure

Anniersay lunch at The White Horse, Romsey

Image
As with last year, my husband and I headed to The White Horse (TWH) in Romsey to celebrate our wedding anniversary. For us, we love that we can experience incredible food so close to home. When we moved to Hampshire a few years ago, I was apprehensive about the move and left the choice of where to live up to my then fiancé (brave I know!). He decided Romsey would be the right place for us and I've not looked back since. For me, The White Horse is a little gem that has made me love the village even more. The menu never disappoints and we were extremely excited to try their latest offerings. For starters, we were intrigued by the Slow cooked beef blade 'lasagne' and I love Seared Scallops . When the 'lasagne' arrived we were surprised at is appearance, but taste wise, it was incredible. The beef was cooked to perfection and was accompanied by a stuffed pasta encasing a cheesy sauce, a twist on a classic lasagne for sure. Slow cooked beef blade 'lasagne&#

Eat, Drink and Be : Winchester

Image
Our brunch series continues today with another Winchester visit. Eat, Drink and Be is towards what I would call 'the top end of town' and is a stone throw away from the Great Hall and Round Table. I've been going back and forth on if I should do this blog post because, quite frankly, its not a good review in any way. I am always honest with my posts and that's why I felt it was important to do this blog because we really did have such a bad experience. So here we go! I have walked past this place on number of occasions as we always park in Tower Street car park but hadn't had chance to stop it. One weekend we were out in a group of 6 looking for brunch on a Sunday morning and this seemed to be the only place that could accommodate all of us. When we arrived, it was quiet so we quickly ordered our food couple by couple. One couple was before us and one couple was after us (this is important to the story). So both couples got their food and the table next to

The Dispensary Kitchen : Winchester

Image
This week, the brunch theme continues here at SistersDineOut. For me, The Dispensary Kitchen in Winchester is always top of my list and given how busy it has become since it has opened, I'd say its top of quite a lot of peoples lists! The worst thing for me about eating here is trying to pick just one meal from the menu. Everything is delicious and o much of the food is locally sourced, which I really apricate. Where possible I do really enjoy supporting local, smaller companies, especially local butchers! Located on at 5-6 The Square, The Dispensary Kitchen is in the centre of Winchester and depending which side of the restaurant you sit, offers relaxing views over the cathedral grounds or the perfect spot to people watch on the bustling street. I've eaten so many brunches here over time that I have lost count, but one thing I can keep track of is how many times I have been disappointed with the food. Why? Because I've never had a bad brunch. That is one of the things
