Some people think ice cream is just for summer, however, we disagree. This time of year is a perfect time to enjoy festive flavours such as sloe gin, after eight, Black Forrest Gateau and chocolate orange, all of which are on offer at Latchetts this side of Christmas. As it was lunch time, we decided to treat ourselves to crepes and ice cream. On the menu for us, the chocolate heaven crepe and chocolate smoors crepe. We were also given the cutest little Christmas pudding truffle with our coffee. The Chocolate heaven crepe had chocolate ice cream, brownies and chocolate sauce. The smoors crepe had clotted cream ice cream, marshmallows and chocolate. I opted to swap my clotted cream ice cream for chocolate orange, although I did manage to have a little taste of the clotted cream too. Both were incredible, although I definitely had a chocolate overload. In a way, I wish I had stuck with the recommended clotted cream as it would have made the dish a little bit ligh...

If you want to experience some new coffee flavours or even just support a local coffee shop then I would highly recommend Nousha Lounge. A little off the beaten track, Nousha is a 2 minute walk from the main high street in Southampton. The owner is a fully trained mixologist and has combined her experience creating cocktails with her love of coffee. What an amazing idea! First on the list of new coffee flavours to try was the Coconut Rose Latte. Beautifully crafted and decorated with a spot of glitter, because let’s face it, everything is better with glitter! It was so silky smooth and I felt the rose wasn’t too overpowering. It was subtle enough to taste, but not too overwhelming. Because of the use of coconut milk, the texture was so creamy. We decided to pair this with a chocolate cake and what a combo! It’ll be hard for me to explore the rest of the coffee menu knowing this delicious latte is on offer. If you love a cosy pub that is dog friendly and offers a cracking Sunday roast, then the King's Head is the pub for you. Set in the beautiful little village of Hursley, just outside of Winchester, the King's Head offers food, a skittles alley and accommodation. We popped in for a roast a few Sundays ago and what a roast it was. Would you just look at how beautiful is looks? Some people only have a Yorkshire pudding with roast beef, but for me, a roast isn't a roast without a Yorkshire pud, regardless of the meat choice. On this occasion, we both decided to have roast pork. For veg. we had cabbage, roast potatoes, parsnips, broccoli and carrot and swede mash.  We were also given our own mini jug of gravy and a healthy sized portion of apple sauce. Last week, we headed up to HarBor on 6th to have a late lunch. The Harbour Hotel is located at Ocean Village in Southampton. We have done a blog about the hotel and spa, which you can read here . We started our meal with a cocktail. At the moment, they are doing a number of cocktails with Nordes Gin so I opted for one of these, which was delicious. Whilst on holiday, we popped for a family lunch at MooFish in Discovery Bay, Hong Kong. Discovery Bay is a short ferry ride from Central Hong Kong and has two plazas with a range of restaurants, shops and bars. As we were staying at the Auberge Hotel, we thought MooFish would be a great place to meet as it is literally a stones throw from the entrance of the hotel. However, if you are staying in central, there are number of other MooFish locations. A full list can be found here . As there were 8 of us eating, it was a great way to see a whole range of meals in one sitting. If you read our most recent blog about our visit to the Sibling Gin Distillery, you’ll know that we were in Cheltenham mid-October. (If you haven’t why not click here to read it now?) Being the responsible people that we are, we decided to book a hotel local to the distillery so we could both enjoy the gin experience and not have to worry about travelling too far. The Frogmill Hotel ticked the box as the perfect location. Just a short taxi ride away, the hotel offered a convenient location within the beautiful Cotswolds countryside. The hotel has a range of rooms and given that we were staying for just one night and planned to be slightly intoxicated for the duration of the stay, we opted for their ‘Cosy’ room. As you may expect from the name, this room is the smallest room that is offered, but does come with a Nespresso coffee machine, which means coffee in bed in the morning, perfect! Last weekend we celebrated my birthday a little early and headed  to Cheltenham for the weekend. As part of my birthday weekend, we visited the Sibling Gin Distillery based just outside the centre of Cheltenham. I was so excited to be going to this gin tour as I love Sibling Gin. I first remember trying their gin around 4.5 years ago when they were at the Cheltenham Food Festival. As I discovered while on the tour, this was when the company was still very much in its prime. Since then, they have moved locations twice (all within the area) and are now settled in their newest location, which is where we attended the tour. When we first arrived, we were greeted with a G&T and given the brief overview of their story. As their parents are brewers (they brew beer) it made sense to the siblings (all 4 of them) to go into business together, which given how young  they all were, is very brave.
