Sisters Dine Out

If you are a regular visitor to the SistersDineOut Blog, you will already know that we love brunch. At the beginning of November, on a very dark and gloomy Sunday, we were in dire need of a catch up and headed over to the White Horse in Romsey to enjoy some tasty food and gossip. Being based in Romsey, I often find myself heading to the White Horse (WH) given that it is easy to get to and on sunny days I can enjoy a leisurely walk into the village for a coffee in their courtyard. I also think that not many are aware that you can go and have breakfast at The White Horse, even if you're not a guest at the hotel.  As much as I love Romsey for cafes mid-week, on a Sunday there are very few independent cafes open. I can defiantly understand why this is, but I love supporting local retailers. Brunch is without a doubt my favourite meal of the day and I love spending a lazy Saturday or Sunday chatting over a coffee and a tasty treat. For me, brunch is all about slowing down and taking the time to really enjoy a meal and whoever you are sharing it with, which I think it why I love it so much. We spend so much of our time rushing here there and everywhere and it when it comes to booking in a brunch, either with friends or family, I always make sure I don't book anything else for the rest of the day. And given the menu at Josie’s I would defiantly recommend blocking out your whole day! With locations in Winchester, Bishops Waltham and Petersfield, Josie's is a family run independent group. Brunch in Hong Kong is a real must if you are luckily enough to have a Sunday in the city. It is, without a doubt, is a gluttonous occasion and not one to be taken lightly. Some people say that attending brunch is more like a 'rite of passage'. The W hotel is a short walk from Kowloon MTR through exit E3 so it is easy to access via public transport. The best thing about arriving via MTR to the W is that you need to walk through the shopping centre, which I admit can be a little dangerous on the way back to the MTR once you have had a few glasses of champagne! Hutong HK and Hutong at the Shard both pride themselves on serving Northern Chinese cuisine ‘against a backdrop of stunning views’. Hong Kong skyline is maybe my favourite skyline in the world because not only does it has some beautiful skyscrapers which make it interesting and unique, from the right place, you also have the backdrop of the mountains which for me, makes it unlike anywhere else I have been before. So good food with stunning views is already a win for me. The Hutong in Hong Kong is based is TST and is right on the waterfront a short walk from the historic Star Ferry. If you are visiting Hong Kong for the first time, I would really recommend travelling to TST in this manner as it is an experience in itself. The ferry has a history which dates back to around 1880 when it was first used as a commuter system and it doesn’t appear much has changed since then. I am a big fan of a bottomless brunch so this weekend Sisters Dine Out decided to see that Winchester has to offer! The venue itself is actually really nice and has been decorated to have a 'Victorian' feel. I have to admit, I really like the way it has been transformed. Apparently it used to be a YMCA café (according to our lovely waitress!) The brunch itself costs £29.99 per person and is served between 12 & 4pm every Saturday and Sunday. For this £29.99 you have 1.5 hours of bottomless prosecco, wine or beer and then two courses off their menu. We of course opted for prosecco ;) After all that booze and two mains, you could also help yourself to unlimited (yes, thats right...UNLIMITED!!) cake!
